A land lot is a rectangular system of land subdivision. Think of a box inside a box. A land lot is supposed to be enough land to support a family. The larger the land lot the poorer the soil, the smaller the land lot the richer the soil. Thus the gold lots were 40 acres and the largest are 490 acres. In Atlanta we see 202.5 and 40 acre gold lots.
